QUESTION ONE: What specific kind of training is right for me?

First let's clear up any misconception about kettlebell training. AKC methodology can be appropriate for men and women of all ages and fitness levels. Light weight, high rep, dynamic kettlebell sets build real off-the-chart strength/endurance, lasting health, while it fries the fat right off your body. What specific kettlebell protocols are chosen, is based on the information you provide. We specialize in matching up proper programming to specific goals. Weight loss, performance, or whatever goals you have, are aggressively pursued. [TOP]


QUESTION TWO: Do you have to join AKC Fitness LI to train at the gym?

No, Personal Training and Master Coaching are available by appointment for members and non members alike. Scheduled Group Classes are open to all, and walk-ins are always welcome. Membership does include open access to the Gym during Squad Training Hours (five-hour AM and PM sessions). There's no appointment necessary, and you'll always work with a highly qualified AKC Coach or Trainer - every workout! [TOP]


QUESTION THREE: Can I lose weight and achieve my other goals with kettlebells?

Kettlebells an advanced weight loss tool, an exceptional performance enhancer, as well as a pure health and fitness system. This dynamic, cutting edge training can be used as you see fit, but it's the sound methodology and advanced protocols that get big results. At AKC Fitness, you'll learn and utilize the various programs protocols within the AKC Fitness System that line up with your exact needs. QUESTION FOUR: Please explain the difference between a Group Class, Squad Training, and Personal Coaching?

Group classes are scheduled events, held almost daily. Kettlebell training is integrated into other fitness modalities, as students follow along with the instructor. Depending upon class focus, workouts tend to build up quite a sweat. Only low level of kettlebell technique is necessary to participate. Group classes are available to both members and non members (discounted to members).

Personal Coaching is simply one-on-one training, focusing on kettlebell technique as the premier tool to achieve your goals in a more dramatic, rapid fashion. Committing over to a personal coach is sometimes the easiest way for many people to get their best results. It's available to members and non members for a nominal fee.

Squad Training is included as part of your membership. There is no extra cost whatsoever. Squad Training is scheduled daily, with five-hour AM and PM sessions. Members simply walk in and train directly with a high level AKC Coach or Trainer. Squad Training is by far the most cost effective approach to reaching your goals. [TOP]


QUESTION FIVE: What other amenities does AKC Fitness LI offer?

All members and non-members workout in a very stylish, immaculate environment, with all newly renovated accommodations, bathroom, shower, changing room, and lockers. We feature 14 fully equipped training stations, so you never have to wait for a piece of equipment or a machine. We also offer refrigerated refreshments for sale. QUESTION SIX: How does membership and pricing work?

There are three levels of membership. Platinum Plan (comes with an annual contract) costs $99 per month, with a one-year contract. The Gold Plan has no annual contract and costs $149 per month. For long-distance members, and anyone who can't get to the gym too often, we offer a Daily Plan, where you can purchase 10 training days for $199 (good for one year). Members are required to pass the Introduction to Kettlebells course, a $299 value, selling right now for half off at $149. [TOP]


QUESTION SEVEN: What if I'm too busy, live too far away, making full membership impractical?

As mentioned in the previous answer, our Silver Membership is a daily plan where you can purchase a block of ten days and use at your convenience. You only pay for the workouts you actually attend. This option can really work for that long distance member or someone who is just too busy to attend on a regular basis. Ten training days cost $199 ($30 for one session), and are good for one year from date of purchase. [TOP]


QUESTION EIGHT: Does the gym include anything other than Kettlebell Lifting?

AKC Fitness LI offers a variety of services and fitness modalities, with the AKC Methodology Kettlebell Lifting as the premier service. The reason for this is simple, the protocols and techniques developed by the AKC and Valery Fedorenko surpass anything I've encountered in 25 years of fitness and performance training. However, we offer our membership access to the cardio corner, with treadmill, bikes, step machine, and two big screen TV's to help you waste those extra calories away. We're also a state of the art First Responder Fitness Center, offering our clientele certain functional training modalities utilized by many individual first responders and departments around the country, such as rope, sled, and sledge training. Valery Fedorenko is a World Champion Kettlebell Lifting athlete, who has brought this heretofore secret Soviet system to the United States by way of the American Kettlebell Club. Head Coach Fedorenko formed this kettlebell organization for the sole purpose of bringing this remarkable system and dynamic sport to Americans.
